October changes the pace.
We are now in the final quarter of 2026, with three months left to make decisions, close opportunities, strengthen relationships and position for the year ahead.
For businesses and leaders, this is often when plans meet reality.
What worked in the first nine months?
What needs to change?
Which opportunities are still worth pursuing?
And perhaps most importantly, what decisions made now will shape how the year ends and how 2027 begins?
At The Connectors Code, these are the conversations we will be paying attention to this month.

October comes with a few developments worth watching closely.
The Dangote Refinery IPO is approaching a major milestone, with the public offer scheduled to close on 13 October. With the offer targeting approximately โฆ2.15 trillion and investor demand reportedly strong, the next few weeks should give us a clearer picture of how much appetite there is for large-scale African industrial assets among local and international investors.
Airtel Money is also putting African fintech back in the global capital markets conversation, with its London listing expected to begin trading fully in October.
At the venture end of the market, African startup funding has crossed $2 billion in 2026. Nigeria remains a major destination for capital, although the numbers also show that funding is becoming concentrated in larger, more established deals.
And beyond individual deals, the bigger question remains the same: how do we move more capital into the businesses, infrastructure and sectors that can drive Africaโs next phase of growth?
That is a conversation we will continue at The Connectors Code.

October is bringing another busy month for Nigeria's technology, investment and business ecosystem.
The National SME Finance & Investment Marketplace takes place on 13 October in Lagos, bringing SMEs and financial institutions together around access to finance, investment, markets and partnerships.
The Inspire Africa Conference follows on 14โ15 October, with conversations around African product builders, technology and innovation.
AWS Community Day West Africa takes place on 17 October, bringing the cloud and technology community together around emerging technologies and cloud practice.
Arewa Tech Fest: The Lagos Exchange takes place on 21โ22 October at the Federal Palace Hotel, bringing together technology talent, government leaders and financial institutions for conversations around innovation, investment and Nigeria's economic future.
And later in the month, Moonshot by TechCabal returns to Lagos on 28โ29 October, with programming spanning government and policy, AI, investment, startups, commerce, enterprise, climate technology and the future of money.
Different rooms, different sectors, but a common thread: the people building, funding and shaping what comes next are already having the conversation.

As the year moves towards its final months, we are interested in more than what is happening.
We are watching what it means.
Markets are changing. Technology is changing how businesses operate. Capital is becoming more selective. Infrastructure remains one of the biggest opportunities and challenges across the continent.
For leaders, the question is no longer simply whether there is an opportunity.
It is whether the organization, capital, network and leadership required to act on that opportunity are already in place.

On 27 November, The Connectors Code will host the 2026 Lagos Executive Roundtable at the Lagos Continental Hotel.
The theme is:
The Roundtable is deliberately different from a conventional conference.
It is an intimate, invitation-led executive gathering designed to create space for candid conversations between people who are building businesses, deploying capital, financing development, shaping policy and influencing industries.
The focus will be on the issues that sit behind Nigeria's next growth cycle: capital and investment, infrastructure and development finance, energy, policy and regulation, and strategic partnerships.
Confirmed institutional participation and support includes the African Development Fund, Bank of Industry, Nigeria Revenue Service, Institute of Directors UK โ Africa Group and Rhofurd Energy, alongside senior leaders across business, finance, government and industry.

Early-bird registration is currently open at โฆ150,000.
But the early-bird window closes on 13 October.
The room is intentionally limited because the value of the Roundtable depends on the quality of the people in it and the conversations that can happen when the room is kept focused.
If you are building, investing, leading or shaping business in Nigeria and across Africa, this is a room worth being part of.

The final quarter is rarely just about finishing the year.
It is about creating the conditions for the next one.
The relationships built now.
The decisions made now.
The investments made now.
The conversations that happen now.
These are often what become the opportunities of the year ahead.
We will continue to follow the people, businesses, markets and ideas shaping that next chapter.
This is October.
The final quarter has begun.
